The book is perfect for everybody: for all kind of student and for people, who have finished their education, years ago! I strongly recomed the book.It is written in a very clearly way, and with very helpful examples.

Superb book

This book has been invaluable to me, when checking my punctuation for writing assignments for university and learning about punctuation in general. It is a nice easy book to pick up and read a few pages of at the end of a busy day. There appears to be everything I need to know, or I have had a need to know so far, and I would recommend this book to everyone even those with just a vague interest in grammar. I shall definitely buying more books in the penguin reference series and by Trask.

I was hoping this slim volume would pack a solid punch like Strunk & White's Elements of Style but it doesn't.

If you're looking for a reference book that gives thorough explanations and adequate examples, skip this and get Elements of Style or, better yet, The Gregg Reference Manual.

Speaks in plain English to the reader, very straight forward and informative. Very good reference guide.

Not very informative

This is a concise book that is no doubt helpful if you do not know much about punctuation. However, if you are looking for a definitive set of rules (especially as concerns puntuation in typed documents), you will be disappointed. I found the book lacking in detail. For example, if you want to know how many blank spaces should be inserted before and after different punctuation marks, or what the different established styles are for abbrevations, dates, etc, you will find this sort of information lacking.
