British Sign Language
~ Written on Nov 13, 2009. out of users found this review helpful.

This book is the best buy for someone who is Learning British Sign Language (BSL). I am now on Level 2 BSL and find it an invaluable source of information since we are expected to write our own stories and sometimes need to find the signs as we are expected to pick up signs as and when we can from our lecturer.

The best buy for a course I have ever made.

Invest in time to find your way around Dictionary of BSL and it will last for years. What a fantastic resource. Making it easier, I prepared A -Z coloured tabs and put them on the index at the back. More coloured tabs on the references numbers for the handshapes through out the book. At the front I put plain tabs to identify the different sections. That done, it takes no time at all to find and refer to a word and sign you looking for.

fantastic! Best book for signing you could ever wish for!

This must be one of the best books to have for all signers. Its like a huge thesaurus and dictionary all in one. It s my bible as i am learning level two BSL and it comes out every lesson i have!

A very impressive book, but surely BSL is a living language? This book keeps it entombed in the last century, some of the photos look even older than its 1993 publication date.
It is a great piece of work but would it be too much to ask for something that can be readily used and understood by families, or do they not matter?
