Hilarious!

Whilst this can be a useful book, for those interested in current"street speak". The examples the author uses are really funny, and l should think unintentionally so, which makes it even more amusing. He also seems obsessed with sex in it's many colourful varities, of which there seems to be many in this book. You should buy this for it's comedy value alone!.

German slang
~ Written on Oct 20, 2003. 29 out of 29 users found this review helpful.

It is an interesting and useful reference, it contains many words and expressions that occur in everyday german that don't appear in a "regular" dictionary. It is great for spicing up your vocabulary if you are a student or have regular contact with native german speakers. What i find slightly annoying is that most examples are given as american english expressions (well it is written by a professor of languages in NY) that a british person would not always recongnise. What may also be regarded as a negative is that there is no index in the back, cross-referencing the english expressions to a german key words, that you do get in some colloquial dictionaries.

Sehr gut!

A very good and detailed use of modern German slang. Useful for A-Level students or those who simply want to adopt a modern German speech.
