An excellent collection of readings

For anyone interested in deafness this is a really good read. It is a collection of essays and articles from a wide range of writers, covering perspectives on deafness, the Deaf community, psychological perspectives, audiology and technology, education, the status of sign language, social welfare and the potrayal of deaf people in the media.
The essays come from a range of perspectives, no one view is forced down your throat. It is a well balanced range of essays which makes for good reading.

This is a book to dip into at any point to start you thinking. I have been reading it on the bus, dipping in to read individual articles, it has been just right for waking me up in the morning!
I recomend this book for anyone interested in finding out more about deafness.
