Great Book
~ Written on Feb 6, 2008. out of users found this review helpful.

This book provides with many different techniques to help you not only on a day to day basis at home, but also for work whether you are a professional or a student. One of the downside I felt with this book is that it is too general and does not give specific examples suited for a particular task/person. Another thing as well is like many of the authors other book, there is a lot of repetition in this book, that you would have read or if you would read, if you read.have read other books of the same collection. Just to save you the trouble though, I would recommend you to read this book and the two other main ones: The Speed Reading Book and Use Your Head of the same author- to save you the trouble of having to read those section in any other books of the same subject, by same author again- I am giving it 4 stars because it says what it does really well- but only 4 because of the downside mentioned.

an excellent introductory book all you need

This book contains a lot of the memory techniques that are widely known and utilised by other memory experts. It is all you will ever need to pass exams, remember nanes and faces as long as you dilligently practice the exercises.

To get round the practicing roadblock I have developed an online system that provides optional tests on a regular basis.

Not much help with studying
~ Written on Feb 9, 2003. 6 out of 7 users found this review helpful.

This book has useful ideas for memorising lists, numbers, and playing cards (not sure how useful that is in real life!), but isn't terribly useful if you're looking for ways to help you study. I was also extremely disappointed by the tiny amount of information about Mind Mapping - only a couple of pages. It would seem all the books in this series push you towards buying the rest in order to get the full picture.

Truely remarkable techniques everyone should learn

A book I have not once regretted buying, exciting and entertaininly written.

The techniques described in "Use Your Memory" work, and with VERY little effort to master, I was astounded with the skill I had attained, once I knew exatly HOW, to use my memory, mainly linking imaginative stories in your mind, to whatever you wish to memorise, and instill into your everyday life.
First the book starts off with a fun test, to give you an idea of how good your memory is, then, it kick starts straight into how to improve, explaining differnt imaginative memory systems, so you can choose which one best suits you.

There are 12 more chapters at the back which explain very simply how to remember such things as, 30 Telephone numbers, Historical Dates, Card Counting for Gamblers, Rasing your IQ Score, Peoples Faces, and more at such ease, you wouldn't beleive!!!
Good Luck.

A great guide to help harness the potential of your mind
~ Written on Dec 5, 2001. 5 out of 6 users found this review helpful.

Whether used alone or in conjunction with the rest of the Millenium series of books, Use Your Memory provides the reader with an informative and intructive guide to using your mind in a wide variety of situations. While it requires a fair deal of investment to achieve results its potential is clear for all readers to see. If such techniques were learnt at an early age those learning them would have a clear advantage in their education. If used to its full potential it can benefit many areas of an individuals life - anything from gambling (as the world memory champion has often done) to meeting and remembering new people. A highly recommended read.
