EDITORIAL REVIEW

A woman's hunt for pleasure knows no rules . . . and no boundaries.

Escaping from a tragic past, Natalie Lambert arrives in New Orleans and falls victim to a series of strange, unearthly attacks. Now, for the first time in her life, Natalie aches with sexual desire. Confused, frightened, out of control, she struggles desperately to understand a world that is transforming around her. But soon she will be powerful and magnificent in ways she could never have imagined . . .

A ruggedly handsome Cajun policeman, Detective Rene Broussard has come to rescue Natalie in her time of greatest need. And when he inexplicably wakes in bed beside her—both burning with a lust impossible to deny—he doesn't care that a dark and vengeful enemy has brought them to this moment. All that matters is the irresistible curve of her body, the heat of her passion . . . and the forbidden pleasures the night promises.

With one sharp, sensuous, biting kiss, he will be hers for life . . . and beyond.

The lost story
~ Written on May 20, 2009. 1 out of 1 users found this review helpful.

I have to say this book was certainly steamy, wicked, and at times gentle. Sometimes the story will seem to get lost due to the bloodlust which is exactly what happened. Never thought I would say this but, there was too much erotica!!! which left the actual story line flat.
I did purchase the second book in this series (actually at the same time I bought this one) Seduced By Darkness (Dark Realm, Book 2) and found the second book to be much, much better. This first book is important to the reader due to the connection later on with the second book. The second book doesn't give you a full recap so you may be a little lost by skipping this one. See my review also for Seduced by Darkness.

Pretty Good Series Start
~ Written on Feb 2, 2009. 1 out of 1 users found this review helpful.

This book was good for laying out Devlin's new world. I didn't particularly find the main characters that great. What made this book good was the secondary couple... they were super hot & made book 2 (Seduced by Darkness) a spectacular book.

Very little plot to string together the sex scenes
~ Written on Jan 19, 2009. 1 out of 2 users found this review helpful.

While the author has a semi-new idea for why/how Vampires share our world, there is not enough plot and character building in this book for me to care if anyone lives or dies. The shaky story outline is there simply to frame sex scene after sex scene. And while I can appreciate good erotic writing, after awhile you tire of the constant bedroom scenes and hope this is all going somewhere. [it's not] Fine for those looking for a little sizzle, but not really worth purchasing or following the planned series. Blah.

New horizons to the vampire genre
~ Written on Sep 12, 2008. 1 out of 1 users found this review helpful.

I did not think that anyone would be able to have a fresh intake on the overly abused vampire genre until I read this book. It is a testament to the Ms. Devline's technique that she was able to take something that was overly written about and give it to us totally fresh and completely engrossing.

The book is fast paced, sexy as hell (yes there is a lot of sex in there as most very eager to point out but its super hot) and totally wonderful. There is even an F/F sexual encounter in the book, which I usually hate, but I found myself not minding that at all in this one. I won't go into the details of the book because others have done so already. But trust me, if you are a paranormal fan you cannot afford to miss this one.

I found myself thinking about this book even when I was at work. This used to happen to me when I was in my 20s but I have become so jaded that it did not happen again for many years now. Delilah gave this back to me with this book and I have to thank her for that.

Oh, please . . . .

This author did a couple of things that are totally amazing:

First, she wrote a book that is about three-quarters sex. (Magically compelled sex between the two protagonists; between them and others, the opposite gender and the same gender; between her and strangers; and three people at a time.)

Second, she made it boring. I would have said it couldn't be done until I read it.
