Great

Has an assortment of popular songs. Nothing corny. Great book for a child or parent who wants to make sure their children know the songs they grew up with. I came across it in (Spanish emmersion) elementary school and my neice who is having trouble with Spanish really likes it. Translations help with any kid struggling who may be having a hard time picking up and the Spanish versions can remind almost anyone of abuelita.

Songs I grew up with...

I was very happy to have found this book...I grew up with many of these rhymes and songs and I wanted to teach them to my class. The illustrations are really nice and the translations helpful in a bilingual class.

Buy it! Enjoy it!

I was looking for a Latino rhyme book in Amazon.com. When I read about this book I couldn't wait to buy it. The book itself is a piece of art! The illustrations and the chosen poems for this book, creates a piece of literature, every child must enjoy.

The book alone ...

If you take the book on its own (apart from any accompanying audiotape), you will find a cute text and fair translations from Spanish to English. As an introduction to some of the common rhymes and songs, the book serves well and has attractive illustration. There are other books of this type you might enjoy more, particularly if you wish to use the book in a classroom setting.

Traditions for Children
~ Written on Mar 3, 2005. 6 out of 7 users found this review helpful.

I like this book because it teaches children the culture of their ancestors. I don't think many Latino children are learning these nursery rhymes and songs these days and it's sad. The book is nice and I can't say anything bad about the book itself. I prefer to have just the book as the cassette that comes with this book really annoys me. Buy just the book and forget about it.
