EDITORIAL REVIEW

Unrivaled diversity and teachability have made The Heath Anthology a best-selling text since the publication of its first edition in 1989. In presenting a more inclusive canon of American literature, The Heath Anthology continues to balance the traditional, leading names in American literature with lesser-known writers and to build upon the anthology's other strengths: its apparatus and its ancillaries. Available in five volumes for greater flexibility, the Fifth Edition offers new thematic clusters to stimulate classroom discussions and to show the treatment of important topics across the genres. The indispensable web site includes revised timelines, a multimedia gallery to support thematic clusters, and a searchable Instructor's Guide.

bought this product for a class - said it was used and in good condition, and when received, it was exactly as it said. there were obvious signs of wear, but the product is in great shape. I was impressed, though, by how quickly the seller shipped the item. :D

I got this book at an excellent price. It was brand new, as promised. No problems with the book or seller. Thanks!

Had to get it for class

Had to get this for class, otherwise I would have been fine with the Norton I already have in my possession. Other than at least one typo that I've found so far (in my first section of reading for class, pg. 419, first full paragraph, 3rd sentence, first word of sentence is spelled "Furhter", as opposed to "Further") the editors have been fine, and their varied perspectives intersting. However, this leads me to the next problem. For an anthology that reportedly prides itself on its multi-cultural base, it does a pitiful job of correctly reporting slavery in the Americas. It only mentions African and Native American slavery, and leaves all mention of the English practice of using political prisoners from Scotland, Wales, and Ireland as slave labor out of its pages.

The only other thing is that I had to find Volume A and Volume B, and Amazon does not have many readily available Volume B's, so this was full price at the University Bookstore.

good conditions as told
