Great book for any relationship
~ Written on Nov 5, 2009. out of users found this review helpful.

My husband has read this way before he met me and I have no doubt that this helped him become a better husband. I am reading this now -- we are expecting our first child -- but this book is also giving me insights on my marriage as well. Highly recommended.

Great cartoons!

This book has the power to redirect a family, a community, or even a nation.

"To learn a new language is not easy. For one thing, you will always speak with an accent.... But for your children, it will be their native tongue!"

"We want to break the cycle of unhelpful talk that has been handed down from generation to generation, and pass on a different legacy to our children--a way of communicating that they can use for the rest of their lives, with their friends, their co-workers, their parents, their mates, and one day with children of their own."

I am very pleased with the fast shipping and good condition of this book. Just as described which was a great surprise considering the price was so low I almost expected to recieve a book in worse condition than described. Haven't finished reading yet but so far the information is invaluable and applicable for any age or situation.

I read this book once through and refer to it many times. She is an exquisite author.

NOTHING NEW

Before I read this book I read a very good book called Between Parent and child by DR Haim G Ginott and is thought to be a classic in the field. But this book offers exactly the same methods even offers the same example in one part word for word so I am rather unhappy.
