ABOUT THIS BOOK

USER REVIEWS

It's worth getting this for Foreign Service test practice.
~ Written on Nov 4, 2009. out of users found this review helpful.

I felt that the best way to prepare for the Foreign Service Officer Test (i.e., the written exam) was to do as many sample tests as possible. This book gives you an ample supply of test questions in all areas of the test, with explanations for each answer (including why the wrong answers are wrong). Coupled with other sources of test samples (e.g., the Foreign Service Study Guide from the State Department), it will give you a broad range of experience with test questions. And the price is reasonable.

I wish i could give negative stars

Do not even check this out at the library. Tons of errors. Terrible terrible terrible! I just found the fifth error in two days of studying. I threw the book across the room. The Cliffstestprep people should issue an apology and a refund. Could you imagine buying a book to learn Spanish with answers like donde esta el libraryo? That is this book.

Still Getting My Feet Wet
~ Written on Sep 13, 2009. out of users found this review helpful.

Page 20, question 7 asks about "Safe Harbor Rules." I answered "B." According to the answer key, my answer was wrong. The right answer is "C." The explanation appears to be making the case that B is the correct answer - that is, that "safe harbor" refers to rules promulgated by federal agencies that say that if you follow them, you are considered to be abiding by the agency's rules..."

This seems to be pretty inexcusable for a test preparation book. A modicum of proofreading would be nice....

Too Many Grammatical Errors
~ Written on May 4, 2009. out of users found this review helpful.

There are way too many grammatical errors in this book. I am scared to trust its information.

I'm also curious as to how they have came up with the content as I am sure this test is not publicly distributed.

We will see how well I do on the test. I will say this book has more material than the study guide you can purchase from the state department.

Outstanding
~ Written on Feb 27, 2009. out of 1 users found this review helpful.

I bought this book with fair expectations. I must admit it was one of the best decisions I have made regarding my preparation for this test. This book is rich in explanations, and if the reader needs more background, with the answers given, it is easier to do an extensive research.

Thank you very much for coming up with this text.
