EDITORIAL REVIEW

Ever greater numbers of people are learning Arabic and/or coming into some kind of contact with the Arab world. Anyone who wishes to learn the language faces a hitherto formidable initial challenge: the alphabet.

This book proceeds, step by step, through all the letters of the Arabic alphabet, showing the sounds they stand for and how they are combined into words. Nothing essential is left out, and no unnecessary complications added. Readers will make rapid progress and will be surprised at the relative ease with which they master the first steps towards command of this increasingly important world language.

The Arabic Alphabet: How to Read and Write It belongs on the desk of every student of the language; in the luggage of every visitor to the Middle East; in the briefcase of business people with Arab clients; and in the back pocket of every employee of British or American companies working in Arab countries.

Great Book

It was unexpectedly great book, easy to understand and follow the directions. I certainly would recommend it to anyone wants to learn the basics of the Arabic language.

For beginner's only

I bought this book and Easy Arabic Grammer together. After an hour of studying this book I could actually read some of that hen-scratching! I will consider myself an advanced beginner when I can de-cipher Al Jazeera's logo. Then on to the grammer. But this is definitely the book with which to begin.

Alright but Alif Baa better

This book will help you with how to write the letters but I highly recommend Alif Baa. I am taking courses at OSU for Arabic and it's what we use. I found it helpful. Although if you're serious about learning the language I can't stress enough the importance of formal classes or knowing a native speaker.

I love this author!

I tried learning Arabic alphabet on Utube.
But, my study of the language has been helped a great deal with the help of this book.

Arabic alphabet made easy!

I couldn't recommend this book more. I have learned the alphabet in no time, and my knowledge is solid. It presents everything in a very clear manner, leaving no room for confusion.
A must-have if you are planning on learning arabic like I do. Other "Teach yourself" relegate the alphabet to a tiny section at the beginning of their books.
Buy with no hesitation.
