Fabulous teaching tool

I am a middle school English teacher who wanted to increase the written vocabulary of my students. I make an overhead transparency of a cartoon twice a week and cover the definition of the word. As a do now, students record the word and guess at the definition. After revealing the definition, students correct their guesses (most do not need to) and create a hint for remembering the word. I challenge them to use the new words in the writing and it has become very successful. Try it!

I bought this book for my almost 12-year old son. He loves drama, acting..., so he therefore loves this book. We learn two words a day, but he's always hungry for more!

Teachers Beware

Copyright restrictions allow NO copies or transparencies for classroom use to be made. I wish I had known that before I bought both books. It never occurred to me that a book written by educators for educators would have such restrictions.

I rated the item two stars because of the inconvenience and $$$ lost, but to be fair...it is a good book for individual use.

I am very happy with this book. It's fun and easily to read, my grandson love it. He read it almost every day.

Good, but easy

Great book, but this book is not suitable for people ages 13 and up. Many of the words, I already know. There are some that I don't know, and it does have great pictures to help you remember words.
