I hope my title sums my review up neatly!
Bought this book on a whim figuring it couldn't possibly be horrible with Rodale's name on it.
Wow! Am I amazed at the bargain I got! This is possibly one of the best, most concise but comprehensive, well-illustrated gardening books I own.
The book is EXACTLY what it says...Vegetable Garden Problem Solver...and then a whole lot more.
Love having a section on each vegetable with very, very detailed information on pests and diseases for that vegetable.
On top of that there is information on beneficial insects, companion planting, proper plant rotation for the garden and a whole lot more.
This book is a fabulous value for anyone with a vegetable garden. Even if you have many, many other reference books this one is worth it's value just for it's organization and quick-to-find information.

Great for Newbies!

Good organic garden reference book

This is not a book you read from cover to cover. It is interesting to browse the topics though. Some of those are: beneficial insects, cut worms, companion planting, soil, composting, planting and transplanting, row covers, slugs and snails and many more. I would buy it again. When you want information, you look up tomatoes or whatever and find good information on growing and solving problems related to that plant. It has gardening ideas like making a cold frame from straw bales and old windows.
