What a nice girl!

Don't lend this to any of your buddies. You won't get it back. I agree that the only thing that would have been an improvement would have been a bigger book, to make the pictures larger.

Disappointed

Simply put, the book was a disappointment. The pictures are neither hot nor beautiful; a failure as an art and of no use as an erotic material.

beautiful, sexy photography

Many collections of nudes are full of dull art-school studies, black&white abstractions that convey little of the electric sexuality of the female form. Other collections try for sexy in the way "men's magazines" do, tawdry but quickly uninteresting in the age of the Internet.

By contrast, Babydoll is in a category all its own. The sole subject is the photographer's gorgeous wife, and the sexual tension and desire of that relationship are reflected throughout. Imagine if a skilled photographer decided to take hot photos of the woman he was really into, to show just how amazing she was to him... this is the result: an oustanding collection of erotic nudes, composed skillfully, capturing the chemistry and desirability of that woman.

The only negative is the small format. The hardbound book is only a little larger than a trade paperback, definitely not coffee-table sized. Ideally I'd want the pages to be about 25% larger than they are.

I'm both an amateur photographer and a connoisseur of beautiful female forms in all types of media-- these are best shot, most electric, sexiest nudes I've seen. (and it turns out the photographer has a web site, if this collection isn't enough!)

I've been ambivalent about this photographer's earlier works, but Babydoll reflects a new level of his art. Highly recommended.

Powerful Intimate Nude Photography!
~ Written on Sep 2, 2008. 1 out of 1 users found this review helpful.

Richard Murrian is famous for his work with young, pretty, Hamiltonesque models. His previous two books were brilliant studies in youthful beauty captured with amazing, artistic flair. But in this third book, Baby Doll, he turns toward more familiar terrain - to his beautiful wife, Nancy Murrian. And it turns out that he could not have cast a more perfect subject. Nancy is absolutely radiant.

Anyone who has ever met Nancy could not fail to see that she was a beautiful woman. And charming too. But the magic that she and Richard create in Baby Doll transcends that, in an almost unbelievable way. More than that, their trust in and love for each other prompted their documenting material that is much more intimate and sexual than anything Richard has ever done before. Viewers will be held spellbound as Richard captures every inch of Nancy's tender, naked form and then moves into secret places that only a husband would know.

It took an enormous amount of trust to create this work; and an even greater sense of courage to publish it. Both Richard and Nancy should stand as an inspiration to artists the world over.
