The title is "Intense Ultraviolet Upconversion Emissions Induced by Pulsed Laser Ablation"

Abstruact Abstract

" Flying particles with visible emission were observed directly when a target, ZnF2 co-doped with Tm3+ and Yb3+, was ablated by a pulsed laser. The laser-like thin beams showed flying particles ejected at very fast speed at high speed with blue upconversion fluorescence. The changing brightness along the fluorescent traces exhibited the process of energy transfer from Yb3+ to Tm3+ in the particles. The pressure in the micro explosion center of PLA was estimated at 2.3GPa. Dashed fluorescent traces reveal that some particles spinning at tens of thousands Hz on their flight routes. On the other hand, SEM images also reveal that the flying particles are the fragments of the target rather than that reunited from plasma matters. A novel upconversion spectrum with intense UV emission was obtained when we excited the collected particles with a diode laser (980nm). The upconversion spectra tell that there are different crystal structures in the target and in the particles. High resolution TEM images verify the difference and show that there is a cubic phase in particles, but a uniform rutile phase in target, which gave the cause of the intense high-order upconversion in the particles. This result not only suggests a way to explore the micro explosion induced by a pulsed laser, but also provides a feasible scheme for UV upconversion laser materials."

Can I use "for" in the below sentence? I think so.

In order to explain the mechanism of the intense ultraviolet upconversion, Yb3+–Tm3+ co-doped ZnF2, AlF3, PbF2, LiF particles were prepared by using the PLA method and measured "for" their optical properties.

Wait your response, thanks.
I'm afraid that this is completely incomprehensible to me- I've made a couple of corrections. Only someone who understandss this would have a chnace of telling you what's wrong.
