The Beginner/Intermdiate and Advanced categories are not defined, so they are only approximate terms. We use them here in the site as rough guidleines rather than concrete categories. Your students should fall more or less into these, but you might, say, find that many in the higher levels don't correspond to your idea of an advanced student, or that many in the lower levels are opertating at more than what you would call intermediate.
