Default Like "a double edged sword" but not quite.

Can anyone help me, I am trying to think of the metaphor/idiom for saying that:

- What is a problem is at the same time a good thing/benefit.
- What is a hindrance/problem, is at the same time, by virtue of being a hindrance, also a good thing.

I can only think of a 'double edged sword' but that is one problem that is in a sense 'two problems'.

I'm totally stumped - I am sure there is an expression for it though. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Chris.
