The following is not an English
mistake because the person
perhaps did not understand Chinese, when the
Chinese president Hu was visiting the US earlier
this year.
" As China's national anthem was about to be played, the official announcer said: "The national anthem of the Republic of China."
What he meant, of course, was the anthem of the People's Republic of China."
