The term 'participle' means, part (of a verb), like 'walked' in "had walked" and 'swimming' in "been swimming" are part of the verbs 'had' and 'been'.

'can' is never a part of a verb. It is the verb. It takes an infinitive as its object:

I can swim. = I am able to swim.

'can' does not have a participle form.

Present simple: can
Past simple: could
