Quite old ones (>50 yrs, at a guess): 'Rozzers', 'Peelers'

All informal; some abusive. There's also a phrase 'the thin blue line' (used as the title of a Rowan Atkinson show, but possibly older). It's a reference to a Kipling line: 'thin red line' (meaning soldiers).
