I think the most important thing is to be yourself! Don't try to fulfil the role of a "teacher" in class. Simply try to be yourself teaching your students then is sort of a side effect that comes along with being in the class room situation.
Also show your students that you like what you're doing yourself and that it's not something you're forced to do (or you have chosen the wrong subject to teach
) Students will trust you if you stay authentic! Also don't be afraid of making a mistake in class. It's fun to find the right answers together.
But what's most important, I think, is: don't forget to laugh with your students!! Show them that you're just a person like them. You don't need to become as affectionate as the member above, even buying his/her students b-day presents - no offense to this member - but you simply go bankrupt once you teach between 150 and 300 students a year
