Yes I agree. You're absolutely right! I've always been attracted by its accent. Sometimes when I think about my past, I really feel as if I had lost something.
However the problem is that I arrived in Italy when I was 5 and from then on I refused to speak English. When my parents tried to make me speak it I always answered
"We're in Italy and I'm not gonna speak English here!".
That's also why my English is not quite like a native speaker's. It could seem odd, but I
was a native-speaker even though I'm not any more.
