I think it's very doubtful. What i do think will happen is that some superlanguages will emerge and many smaller languages will die out. I can see twenty or thirty dominant languages, including English, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, Arabic. The languiages that are already used in more than one country are likelt to be the most important.
