Forums are, by their nature, a bit messy; no one can read all the posts, so there is no guarantee that absolutely every post will be treated in exactly the same way, however hard we try. We have a
forum section dedicated to policies, but few read it; everyone in IT knows that people rarely read instructions, which is why we have expressions like RTFM. People will use their judgment before deciding how to deal with something. Does a rule against spam stop spam? That rule is enforced by deletion. The hoework rule will also be enforced by people's responses to a post.
