They are technically correct but it would depend on the context. You are right in that "remember" + "to" is often about responsibilities or duties (such as picking up your kids at school) but in another situation that same context could be about the mental action of remembering or not remembering ("remember" + "ing"): I remember picking up the kids at school but I can't remember what I did after that!

Oh boy!
