Pronounce the 1st & the 2nd ‘a’ as a short ‘a’ /æ/ (as in ‘at’). Stress the 2nd syllable ‘katch’. Remember the ‘t’ is silent and ‘ch’ just as that in ‘church’ (/±/). The ‘e’ alone is the 3rd syllable which may be reduced to a schwa (/c/) sound (as in ‘ago’) or may be pronounced as a short ’i’ /w/ (as in ‘it’). Pronounce the ‘o’ in the last syllable ‘won’ either as a schwa, or as a short ‘o’ /Z/ (as in rock) or as an ‘a’ /Y:/ in ‘far’ (as most Americans do). As Anglika mentioned, the ‘w’ isn’t a ‘v’ and isn’t uttered as a ‘v’ at all. It’s a bilabial and not a labio-dental fricative.
