Start your own family traditions

Did you use to celebrate all your Christmas together with your family? You may not be able to spend all your Christmas together for reasons such as a death, divorce or a long distance move. This may be the perfect time to start your own family traditions.

I was newly married, and had a young child when my husband and I moved far away from my family due to better job. My family had always been together for every Christmas so this was completely new to me. I hope you can imagine that it was very difficult time for me.

We didn't know to many people in a new area, but my husband did make a friend at work. So we shared Christmas with him and his wife. They also didn't have their family near. I think you will agree that it was a good idea.

The conclusion is that you can extend your family to include those of your friends who also don't have family nearby and the family celebration will be continue.
