Yes, it's an event but why "hour" instead of "time"?
Is it because this "time" longs specifically one "hour"?
Besides being earth's "time", this "time" longs only one "hour"?

The hour for the bombardment was between 1300 and 1400.
What is the hour?

What was the hour of death? At what hour do you open?
When is your dinner hour?
the man of the hour.
The doctor's hours were from 10 to 4. What an employee does after hours is his or her own business.

The sentences above were found on Dictionary.com.
It seems possible to me to replace "hour" by "time" on most of them.
Is it really possible? If so, why "hour"?
