I think these idioms mean:

-teeth set permanently on edge - probably irritated, or angry at someone or something

-when the chips are down - this describes someone who is there for support even when times have been bad or challenging

-she traveled in state - I think this means someone who travels first class

-he has blind spots - this describes a person who is either unable or (most likely) unwilling to see and accept the truth

-he looked daggers - describes someone who is very angry

- blue in the face - I know this is said when you are trying to convey information to someone who is not listening

- fighting the good fight - describes an individual who is working tirelessly for a good cause

-into the limelight - you are the center of attention for a number of people
