My comment about being reasonably polite was meant for your request to the person to move
For instance, you could be rather rude and say "
Hey, shift it, will ya!"
So to be very polite, you might say, "
Excuse me, could I come through, please?"
Or "
Pardon me, may I come past you?"
Don't give up - we all go through learning curves with language.
