Default "in" and "at"

Hi,

I would like to find out when do I use "at" and when do I use "in" / "inside".

For instance:

1. I am in (or inside) the bus / train.
2. I am in (or at) the university.
3. I am in (or at) the office.

etc.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Regards,
Trend7
