Re: How to Phonetics English phonetics can be tricky. Unlike a lot of other languages, English has a number of situations where letters & groups of letters can have the same pronunciation made of them.
One classic example is: GHOTI.
At first glance, it looks like it should be pronounced as: GOATIE, but it could be pronounced: FISH, as per:-
GH as in: Rough
O as in: Women
TI as in: Motion. |
