Ah yes - I was stuck in the mindset of not breaking the two words apart. But even so, I wouldn't say "It took me forever to get the baby off tonight," but rather "to get the baby off to sleep" - so that isn't really using "get off" as a phrasal for "get to sleep," is it? |
