Please help me to improve this sentence…

“Put in the number of pages to skip.”

(If I put in ‘2’ means the page will skip backward and forward every 2 pages. For instance the search results return 10 pages. And if I am in page 4, I can skip forward to page 6 and backward to page 2. the display of the page will be something like this:

Page 2 4 6 10

As u can see that I have put in ‘2’ , the differences between the pages will be 2 then.
