Both are fine, but it's considered polite to place the other person's name ahead of yours, so the second one is more common than the first. The first one is used, but more so as an afterthought, or something you forgot to say when you started speaking, so you added it in, like this,
I (oh yeah) and my friend are planning to. . . .
Some speakers might even add in "we", like this,
I (oh yeah) and my friend, we, are planning to . . . .
