Dear Ronbee,
How are you? I hope you are in good health.
At last, my exams are over. I tackled 9 subjects in 3 days. These included Science, Reading, Language, Math, Civics, Home economics, Computer,
Filipino (native language)and Religion (my school is run by catholic brothers).
Christmas break this time will be completely worry-free for me. For the last 5 years, third quarterly exams were given right after Christmas Break. Several parents complained thus the change in sked. In Language, our exam was about adjectives, adverbs--identifying, kinds, uses, arrangement etc. Reading included comparison, idiomatic expressions, colloquial English, outlining, summarizing, getting the main idea, make a possible ending, getting the lesson in the story, comparing charactersetc.
Math and Science are my favorite subjects. In Math, we are in the discounts, interests, proportions, percents, decimals and fractions and their applications--quite easy. In Science, we are in matter, elements, periodic table etc--also easy because we've been studying these since level 1.
In Civics, we are studying citizenship and our rights as a Filipino citizen, the government agencies and their heads. All in all we studied 18 government agencies--with overlapping functions. My mom told me our list is not complete! No wonder, we are in financial crisis! So many government employees to pay, but the source of government income nil. Corruption, from what I read in the newspaper, is rampant. Poor Philippines!
In home economics, we studied handicrafts and how it affect the national economy, gardening, food presevation and how to prepare and cook a native sausage called longganisa (yummy!).
Believe it or not, I found our test in Filipino harder than Language and Reading. We have same subject matter-adjectives (Pang-uri) and adverbs (pang-abay). They have almost similar kinds and uses ie. common, nominal and pronominal.
Computer included typing techniques and binary, octal etc computations.
In Religion, we tackled Jesus' miracles, parables, His disciples and Chritmas advent.
WOW! I am so glad it is finished!
How can i send our pictures to you?
Merry Christmas!
RAM
