I am helping someone with their English. I speak U.S. English and this person uses the present perfect and present perfect continuous completely interchangeably. I, however, do not use it interchangeably with many verbs or in different circumstances. Gramatically, what is the "rule" for use of present perfect and it´s continuous form in spoken English.
