In spite of TV, people still go to cinema, but very few people visit museums and galleries.
Magazines and newspapers are still read – not only in the UK, but also in the Czech Republic. The media influence our lives a lot. They usually develop our opinions on everything. If TV tells us holy war against Islamist radicals is good and useful for both (both??) sides, most of us are going to believe it.

To sum up, I think British people’s hobbies are the same as ours. Probably almost every country in the world, except countries of the third world, has just about the same hobbies. Unfortunately, these poor people don’t have enough money to go to the cinema, if there is any. But they can devote themselves to other hobbies, the natural hobbies: any sports, drawing, housework…
