The term, in North America, is 'make-up' exam. But such exams are rare and, moreover, based on health issues or other extenuating circumstances, none of which is having failed the exam.

There isn't a term. If you fail the final exam, and that exam is worth more than 40% of your grade, you pretty much fail the course and have to take the course over again, a second time around. The exam for that course is called "the final (exam)".
