Active voice does not sound the same as passive voice, nor does it mean the same.

I'm not sure exactly what it is that you are confused about, but consider:

1) "I have killed."
2) "I have been killed."

Both sentences are in the present perfect tense, but the first one is in active voice and the second one is in passive voice. They do not mean the same thing. Are you clear what the difference is?
