Default faceplant: a slang term?

I read this piece of conversation from a book called Sideways, written by Rex Pickette:

"I'm telling you. That woman digs you."
"Maybe."
"Maybe? You almost do a faceplant and she shows in the morning with coffee and pastries. She digs you, man."

I can tell from the context that "dig" here means "like". But what's faceplant? I found in the internet that faceplant is hitting the ground with one'e face. But I don't think this fits into this context. Does faceplant have other meanings?
