    She kindly offered me her seat.
    She offered me her seat kindly.

    Diagram these.

    What could be the reason for my giving this thread the title, subjunct diagramming? Concentrate on the adverbs and their functions.

    She offered me her seat kindly. = offered in a kind manner

    I would diagram them the same.
    Now, if it said, "Kind she offered me her seat ", or "She, being kind, offered me her seat", I would change the word modified.

    I would only accept the second diagram as correct (if I were judging a competitive sentence diagramming round), and I would prefer it if the indirect object came after the adverb since that is the order within the sentence.
