I really want to know how to control students in the classroom. They make noise and they are not interested in English. How to motivate them?
NOT A TEACHER
(1) Some teachers say that the "secret" to good control is how you begin and
end the class.
(2) As the students enter the room, you should have a short lesson on the
chalk- , whiteboard for them to start working on (or you could make paper
copies). They will soon become accustomed to coming in and working on the
mini-lesson. (Then you will have time -- and quiet -- to take the roll.)
(3) Some teachers end the class period with a quiz. This keeps the students on
their toes and provides a formal ending.
P.S. Of course, the best thing for control, many teachers say, is to provide
interesting and meaningful lessons. If they see that you really love (and know)
your subject, they will behave accordingly.
