Is it okay to say "It is allowed to smoke here." or "It is not allowed to smoke here."

Although I don't see any grammatical errors in either sentence - I would probably use this instead: "Smoking is permitted here." "Smoking is NOT permitted here." Or "Smoking is prohibited here."
