Hello Everyone,

Sometimes one stumbles over a simple question, usually when the problem occurs in written English with its lower tolerance to errors.

Which is correct:

How long shall we have to wait for them to make up their (1) mind or (2) minds?

A Teacher's opinion will be greatly appreciated.

I would consider the context.

If talking about something like a committee, I'd probably use the singular. If talking about a less structured group, I'd go for the plural.

I do agree with you. sarcastically I would use plural as well - along the line of can we come to a conclusion sooner not later.
