Can we stop walking?
1- I'm starting to get tired.
2- I start to get tired.
#2 is quite alright. What do you think?

I start getting tired or I am starting toget tired - depending on your circumstances.
The first one if fine, but the second one is (IMHO) quite ungrammatical. "I start to get tired" doesn't really make sense in any case. You could say: "I get tired when I walk too much." (The first one means the same as "I'm getting tired".)Originally Posted by blacknomi

What about this?
1- I'm starting to feel tired.
2- I start to feel tired.
I think they are almost twin sentences just that #1 is a bit more emotional. Right?

Ms. Typo! Is your cat lying on your keyboard? I'm smelling her paws in a few of your posts. *GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG*Originally Posted by twostep
I wouldn't use the first one, "I start getting tired". Under what circumstances would you use? Mostly, I'd say "I'm getting tired."
I'm getting tired of reading books in the late late night.![]()
1- is the correct response. 2- doesn't work in that context. Note, the progressive tense "stop walking".Originally Posted by blacknomi

Consider,
EX: I walk 5 miles a day, and when I hit the four-mile mark, I start to get tired.
Dear O' Cassie,
I've been teaching FULL time for one year. When I look back on those days, I wouldn't say I have the best of my time, but things are going almost without a hitch. What murders me is that I have to run around the different work places. So to be honet, I'm starting to get tired.
I go to Joe's class four times a week. It is an early morning class. There are only 5 students and not all of us attend his class four times a week. Sometimes I am the only one who makes eye contact with Joe. I wish Student number 2 and 3 would show up and make me company. I start to get tired of his class somehow.
Any comment?![]()
The first one is better.Originally Posted by blacknomi

1. What's murder, though, is that I'm starting to get run down now because I teach at several locations.
2. I'm starting to get tired of Joe's class, now. I wish the other students would show up; I could use the company.
