Default "look up dictionary" or "consult a dictionary"

    Dear All,

Which one is correct and why?

If there's any words you do not understand, ________ dictionary.

    (a) look up
    (b) consult a

Thanks a lot for your kind assistance.

It should be 'consult a' because you'd have to say 'look them up in a dictionary'. Though many speakers would say "there's", I'd recommend using 'there are'. Happy new year.
