cannot suffer/suffer from the cold weather
This plant cannot (= is not able/possible to) suffer/suffer from the cold weather.
Are 'suffer' and 'suffer from' suitable for this sentence? Would 'bear' and 'stand' work better?
Could I ask native speakers to help me please? Thank you in advance.
Re: cannot suffer/suffer from the cold weather
You could say, 'This plant cannot suffer the cold weather' but it's a bit formal and dated, 'bear' could be used but more natural would be 'stand'.
