Like any profession, medicine too has its share of black sheep (or the black sheep?)

Without "the", the noun "black sheep" refers to the group in general, and with "the", the noun "black sheep" refers to a specific group, so you would need to qualify it, like this,
. . . the black sheep that go into a profession just for the money.
