| I would like to know what following idioms mean: know for a fact know by rote know down to the ground know a hawk from a handsaw know when to stop thank you |

I have no clue. know down to the ground know every aspect, know all the ins and outs, know something well, be very familiar with something. know a hawk from a handsaw - know which is which, know what is what ( taken from Hamlet). know when to stop - means exactly what it says...know your limit, know when to say enough is enough without going overboard, know when to draw the line. |
